Prior to founding The Tenney Group, Charles Tenney owned a limousine business, a courier company and the first airport share ride service in Dallas, TX. Charles was a sergeant in the United States Army. Upon completing his service, Charles received a degree in marketing from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Charles Tenney has over 37 years experience in consulting and facilitating business sales and acquisitions exclusively in the transportation industry and all across the United States. In the chauffeured transportation segment of the transportation industry, Charles Tenney has facilitated more business sales than anyone in the world. His interests include riding his Harley and hiking.

Spencer Tenney Photo

Prior to joining The Tenney Group in 2002, Spencer worked as a consultant in the medical staffing industry and owned a music publishing company. Spencer’s education includes a degree in Communication from the University of Texas in Austin. He currently holds the designation of Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) through the International Business Brokers Association.

Spencer’s experience includes over 40 transportation business sales all across the United States. He has been published in multiple transportation industry magazines and has been a featured speaker at national trade shows. He is also the author of "5 Keys to Maximizing Your Transportation Business Sale."

Michael L. Lawrence Photo

Michael L. Lawrence is a Mergers and Acquisitions specialist and consultant who often works on special assignments with The Tenney Group. Mike has worked in the transportation industry for over 40 years, including stints as President of the Schneider National Independent Contractor group of Schneider National and as CEO for the following: Burlington Northern Motor Carriers, Trism, Inc and AmeriTruck Distribution Corp. Mike has bought 27 companies in transactions valued at $350 million and has arranged $500 million of financing for transportation companies. He has also facilitated six M&A deals in passenger transportation and has done valuations of 200+ transportation companies. Mike holds a PhD in Finance from Michigan State University and was a finance professor at the University of Houston – Columbia. He and his wife Susie live and office in Fort Worth, Texas and have four children and 3 grandchildren.

Richard Bage brings 25 years of medical transportation expertise to The Tenney Group. As the founder and former Chairman of the Board of MedCorp, Richard built the largest diagnostic services provider in the state of Ohio--$147 million in sales and 450 vehicles at its peak. His industry expertise includes M&A integration as well as consolidations and reorganizations. The depth of Richard’s overall knowledge in the ambulance and medical transportation industry is an invaluable addition to The Tenney Group’s team of industry specialized transaction advisors.

Jim Pringle Photo

Jim Pringle is an experienced business owner, serial entrepreneur and M&A advisor. In those roles, Jim has bought, built, and sold companies for over 20 years. Jim started the Original Austin Shirt Company and built it into one of the largest textile screen printing companies in Texas/ Jim sold this company to East Texas Distributing, a strategic buyer, at the peak of the market. Jim’s personal deal making experience with strategic buyers is an asset to The Tenney Group considering 90% of all of our transportation business sales are with strategic buyers. Since 2002, Jim has helped business owners of all sizes across the South through the process of buying and selling a business. Jim has also facilitated dozens of successful mergers and raised venture capital financing. On a personal note, Jim is a single dad with one daughter. He enjoys playing golf, tennis, and classical guitar. Jim Pringle operates his Tenney Group office out of Austin, TX and is equipped to help transportation business owners across the United States.

He is one of approx. 700 business brokers in American who have earned the esteemed Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation. Since 2003 he has been helping business owners get what they deserve from their business sales. Prior to business brokerage, he owned several successful companies. Jim earned a marketing degree from the Rutgers University School of Business. Jim operates his office near Denver, CO and is able to help transportation business owners located all across the United States.
